Visits in our Local Area

As part of the National Curriculum, we are encouraged to give our children the opportunity to participate in events or lessons within the school’s locality, but not always on the school site, for example, visiting the local library, making drawings of local buildings or investigating wildlife in our locality. These events and activities will always be purposeful and beneficial for the children and Ofsted views learning outside the classroom as an essential element of a broad and balanced curriculum.

As a school, we have defined our local areas depending on Key Stage.

Key Stage 1

Up to and including; Rishton Library and Rishton Post Office.

Key Stage 2

Up to and including; Cutwood Park, Canal Bridge on High Street, Rishton Railway Station and Rishton Library.
