Hello, my name is Mrs Chambers I am the class teacher in Year 1. Having successfully achieved my Newly Qualified Teacher Status (NQT) in 2018 at Rishton Methodist Primary School, I have continued to teach in Year 1 and whilst challenging for both myself and the children, there is lots of exciting learning to do. I am enthusiastic about continuing my own learning journey and helping the children to fulfil their potential in Year 1. In addition, I am the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) lead in school and the Outdoor Learning Co-ordinator, so, naturally I incorporate these interests into my teaching and encourage others to do so across school as much as possible.
I am relatively new to teaching having only completed my PGCE qualification at the University of Cumbria in 2017 however, before this, I was a Police Officer for 11 years in Burnley, Nelson and Colne; undertaking a variety of roles. Previously, I also worked at two Children’s Centres and was a manager at McDonalds; so you can see my background is quite varied! I also have a degree in Business and Management Studies with Health Management.
I am a mummy to two young children, aged 4 and 8 years old and I love working with, developing and teaching children and look forward to really getting to know your children and their families.
Around the hectic life of being a mum to two small children I try to swim and keep fit and we enjoy being outdoors…going camping, running and eating out. In my spare time, I enjoy reading and shopping!
I hope to bring more learning outside of the classroom and making use of the amazing Forest School area and grounds we have at Rishton Methodist School.
