Welcome to Ruby Class, I am Mrs Chambers and since starting at Rishton Methodist School in 2017, I have taught in Year 1 and Year 2. In addition to my role as class teacher, I am also the lead for Personal, Social, Health Education (PSHE) and the Outdoor Learning Co-ordinator. So, naturally I incorporate these interests into my teaching and encourage others to do so across school as much as possible. We now have an outdoor seating circle and a new outdoor classroom and this will increase the opportunity to learn outside across the curriculum, using lots of the new equipment and training we have received through the Nature Friendly School initiative.
I am relatively new to teaching having only completed my PGCE qualification at the University of Cumbria in 2017 however, before this, I was a Police Officer for 11 years as well as having a background in business and management.
I am a mummy to two children, aged 7 and 11 years old and we have a dog called Monty, so plenty to keep me busy!
Around the hectic life of being a mum to two children, I enjoy keeping fit and cycling and in my spare time, I enjoy reading and shopping…lots!
I hope to enjoy more learning outside of the classroom and making use of the amazing forest school area and grounds we have at Rishton Methodist School this coming year.
